500, RAM vs RESOURCES
Posted by fvee, Fri Dec-14-01 02:20 AM
On my Win98se PC, I use "System Monotor" and "Resource Meter" simultaneously. My 750mz P3 has 256megs of RAM. I monitor "Processor Usage%", "Unused Physical Memory", "Swapfile in Use" & "Swapfile Size" on the "System Monotor".

Problem: With about 6-7 applications and/or Web pages open, my Swapfile size was 140meg, Swapfile in Use was zero, Unused Phsical Memory was 110 meg and system resorces were below 10%. I tried to open another application and Received a message to close down an application prior to trying to open the new application.

Question: With all the RAM and Swapfile available, how come my resources are so low?

Better Question: Are there any tweaks to make more system resources available. In other words to make more of the (Physical or Virtual) RAM convert to system resources?
