565393, SFC /Scannow Scan Reveals.....
Posted by uffbros, Wed May-23-18 01:51 AM
I have been unable to save an image from Macrium Reflect to my 2nd internal hard drive. Macrium returns the following error. "Verification failed at 28%(Block 140126 hash value is incorrect. I did the following from google suggestions and Hard Disk Sentinal says the drive is fine but SFC /scannow says it has file errors and some it can't repair. The log is over 5MB in size so I linked it to my google drive. If the disk is fine and it's the files or file system what is the fix? This drive is just a backup drive. Thanks

So https://www.hdsentinel.com/ is a SMART utility.

And https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-sfc-scannow-to-repair-windows-system-files-2626161 says it "will inspect all of the important Windows files on your computer, including Windows DLL files".

How do "windows files" relate to a (disk ?) error being reported by Macrium?

Does Event Viewer (or http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/full_event_log_view.html) provide any clues?

If you feel your drive might be failing (SMART utilities are not an end-all), how about running a CHKDSK on your drives?

If a drive is failing, could be prudent to backup what you can, while you can, with an understanding of what you've captured my not be valid.

Possible that (bad) memory could also come into play.

I installed Macrium Server + edition...And the file passed verification. Go figure. Yes I ran chkdsk. Hard Disk Sentinel is a very good hard disk diagnosis program and it passed that.
