OS = Windows 10 Pro
Acronis True Image is installed.

When using a program called regedit.
I wish to delete a line in my registry.
The regedit program will not allow me to delete the line.

I also have a program called Resplendent Register V3.0 and it won't let me remove the line.

Is their any other registry edit program that would allow me to remove this line?

Have you tried to do it manually?

Press the Win key + R , type in or paste in regedit,

Scroll down to what you want to remove and try removing it - right click whatever you want to remove.

A word to the wise - backing up the registry before editing is always a good idea.

Jim.

I have run regedit
I have searched for the key I need to delete
I have attempted to delete the line I want to delete
A prompt came up unable to delete.

I downloaded the website you mention.
I haven't figured out how to use permissions yet.
Thank you for your reply.

Are you running regedit as administrator?

Yes

Try running regedit in Safe mode.

(Easy way to get to safe mode - Start>Run type in msconfig - On the Boot tab, mark the safe boot box under Boot options and restart. You'll have to go back to msconfig to clear safe boot, then reboot a 2nd time, after you try to make the changes to the Registry)

I don't know if this will make any difference but it's what I would try next if I personally had this problem.

Just what is the key you're trying to delete?

Thank You all for replies.
My problem was solved.
There was a program that I could not reinstall.
I requested help from the program owners.
It took them a long time to send a fix.
In the meantime I thought the problem may of been in the registry files.
I finally got the fix.
I Installed the fix and program now worked.
