I was given this as it runs so slow and I love to diagnose and fix. Well this thing Passes every test I can do, tweaked , cleaned, no malware, and it is truly the slowest thing I have seen in a long time.
Has 6 g Ram, I know i could do more but really, is it worth it??
1 t HD- I know SSD would be faster but really, cant be the issue for this turtle.
I have run Dell support assist test- all pass other then battery is total trash, but that is not the problem. Runs fine on plug in, battery has been ordered.
I have updated every driver. CCleaner, super anti spyware,, Glary utiities. Everything is clean.
ONly MIcrosoft security at startup, nothing else. CRazy!! The reviews are not bad on this.% yrs old really isn't that old! I have a dell That is older that runs perfect and it is not as good of a pc.
FRom all I can read this should be a good notebook.

What is the specific processor model? This can be found in System from Control Panel or the <Win Key> + X menu. For example, I7 2600.
What version of Windows 10 (I'm assuming it's Windows 10)? This can be found in System from the <Win Key> + X menu or the Run dialog, <Win Key> + R then type WINVER and press OK.
Can you run Defraggler and click the Benchmark drive button, then tell us what the average access time is? Also look at the Health tab and tell us the values for Spin up time, Command Timeout, Reported Uncorrectable Errors, Reserve Blocks count, Reallocated Sectors or any other parameter with a value over 1000.

Yes win 10. I'll check on the above in the am. I did order a new battery and 8 g ram.

That I5 processor isn't super fast, but fast enough. The Passmark score for it is 2501.

This is probably the cause of the slowness. Most likely the drive is slowing down because of age. There isn't anything you can do to fix it. A properly working HDD should show in the range of 3Mbps to 5Mbps.
As for the Windows version, what I was looking for was the 4 digit version number. If Windows 10 is not at version 2004, Windows Update will be working in the background to download and install updates. This can greatly reduce performance.
BTW, you can't paste pictures into a PCQ&A post. You have to save them to a file, then attach them when you are composing your post.

Yes a small SSD would help it a lot.
