I just resurrected an old computer with a new power supply and an SSD. Asus P5Q pro. Presently I am running it on Ubuntu 20.04. Because of lack of knowledge, I was not able to install the scanner. I would like to do a dual boot with Windows 10 and use that to run the scanner. Here is the problem. Asus does not supply window 10 drivers for this motherboard. Would it be possible that Windows 10 would supply the necessary drivers?

The short answer is that it "should" work. You didn't mention how much RAM it has, or what processor. You should have at least 4GB of RAM, otherwise it will probably be unusable even with a SSD.

I was looking for info on the processor model, not the clock speed. But it wouldn't hurt to try installing Windows 10. During the install select the option that you don't have a product key. That way you can try it for a few days without activating. If you like the way it runs then go ahead and enter your key and activate. Just don't expect it to be super responsive.

Windows 10 installed without any problems. Everything seems to be working without installing MB drivers. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to install scanner drivers in Linux, it only took seconds to get the scanner functioning in windows 10.

VueScan supports Linux. I have used it for years, but never had the need for the Linux version. Free to try, then buy if you like.

When I installed VueScan it would not detect the scanner. I was instructed to install Linux drivers. I was not able to do so for Ubuntu 20.04. The scanner is now happily living on its own drive on Windows 10.
