566605, Google Chrome - Managed by your organisation
Posted by Pcqandaman, Fri Aug-21-20 09:41 AM
Has anyone managed to remove this message that appears in Chrome and Chromium based browsers?
I have tried many of the suggested ones found by googling but none have worked.
My PC is managed by me and no-one else.

It's very probably benign but still irritating. Have you seen this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwR-Pb4wldk ? (Skip the ads, of course.)

Thanks KJT.
I just use Windows Defender and can't find anything equivalent to the Avast settings.
Yes, it does look benign. I think it was brought into Chrome fairly recently as a feature. It would been better if they had named it something more helpful. It's probably best to leave it as it is.
It's just so annoying when this sort of thing creeps in.
There are hundreds of places that give ways to get rid of it but nowhere I can find gives a full authorititive description of it.

Try Epic or Vivaldi browsers. Neither indicates "Managed by your organization" that I could find - so even if they are, you won't be irritated by the statement.

Epic claims to be secure and private. It has a built-in free VPN and more. It operates full time in "private browsing" (incognito) mode.

Vivaldi claims to be a "Fast, private browser with unique features".

Both will be quite familiar to anyone already using Chrome.

I do have Vivaldi and use it now and again along with Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
But my main browser is Cent which lets me have all the functions I like.
Each of the others have some of the functions but only Cent has them all.

Does Cent have the "irritation"? :P

Yes it does.

I took a look at "Cent". It certainly has an abundance of settings choices. :7

Certainly more options than I need right now.

But for a second there I thought I was back in Internet Explorer.

Just like IE, there's no "Paste and Go" for the address bar.

Certainly the developers had to be aware of this feature in the other versions of Chrome/Chromium/Firefox etc. I wonder what the logic was for not continuing with it.

Oh, and so far there's no "Managed by your organization" irritation.

There is Paste and Go.

I do not understand why you haven't Paste and Go.
I've been looking for an option in Settings but can't find one.
It's not in an extension either.
Very odd.

Even more odd: This morning I have "Paste and Go" or "Paste and Search" depending on what I've copied to paste.

I should have made a screen-shot of the context menu yesterday.

Still no "Managed by your organization". Maybe it will arrive tomorrow morning.

That is odd.
The main option that keeps me staying with Cent is when I move the cursor to the left edge all the bookmarks pop out.
Then when I left-click a bookmark it opens in a new tab and the popup disappears.
Another is the built-in mouse gestures although I only set one to swipe right to close a tab.

Thanks for chatting up cent. I just last week started the process of moving my brain from firefox to chrome. The latest chrome is a joke to me, but cent is apparently based on an older version when stuff still worked I guess. Anyhow, great browser so far, what chrome should be.

Your link, corrected: https://techgyo.com/chrome-keeps-closing-freezing-or-not-responding-read

The "solutions" listed don't seem "Extravagant" but pretty basic. "Method 8", which the article omits, is the "Why bother? Move to a different Browser" solution. :7

There are a variety of "chrome/chromium based browsers" to choose from that may not have these problems.

Personally, I haven't had any issues with Chrome. When I use it, it works fine for me.
