567007, Windows Defender - display virus details
Posted by Pcqandaman, Sun Aug-01-21 11:02 AM
I run a full Windows Defender scan weekly.
Today it found something but I can't find a way of displaying what it was that it found.
I've looked in Protection History but there is no entry for today.
Does anyone know where to look?
Thanks.

(No idea, but I'll just state...)

You're not supposed to be able to see, to know.
MS sees. MS knows. And that's all that matters.
And so it was written & so it was done.

Isn't a bit ridiculous that a program (antivirus or otherwise) doesn't provide easily accessible, pertinent data for ones perusal!

And then, even if it does, you have to jump through hoops, only to find out that what it bothers to display is truncated to a point where what you're able to see is worthless.

(No idea if this will do it or not. I doubt it ;-) .)

Thanks therube, it's odd that there are other entries in the history but not one that it just found.
I'll have a look at the link, thanks.
