Posted by bobbo, Thu Oct-03-02 05:52 AM The last time M.M. played at Tiger Stadium, Denny McLain deliberately fed him a gofer ball which Mantel hit for a home run. Mantel had always been a hero of McLain's. McLain was the last single season 31 game winner and there will probably never be another. Too bad McLain turned crooked in retirement and is now serving time. | |
