I was sorry to hear about your car. Your misfortune was a bit of a surprise because Subarus are winter work horses here in the southern Appalachian mountains. Their four wheel drive power train performs admirably in snow on hilly roads though no vehicle is immune to road ice. I'm reminded to not have excessive expectations from any 4-wheel drive vehicle.
