crop it to 48x48 and reload it.

Well this is an older picture but not by much. I tried to crop it to the right size but I'm ashamed to say I'm not sure how to do it. I'm an old dog, but I love new tricks.

There is no need to crop it to 48x48. Any size image entered into the avatar box will be automatically reduced to 48x48.

I think I read that before, Shelly. My problem was that the portion of the pic I wanted to use was not square. Well with about a hundred steps in three different programs I was able to take the rectangular picture and add white space to the right of the image so that the file was a square. With this post I'll see if it worked.
