Setup.exe is a Windows file, so the installer is doing something inhospitable and apperently trying to put stuff into parts of the memory that are already occupied by something else. Thus, the Stack Dump.
A check for a newer version of that scanner software on the manufacturer's web site would be my first step. Read their FAQs for Known Issues. Other than that, perhaps ScanDisk the drive for errors.
Almost every program I've DL'd has it's own set-up.exe file. Doesn't this mean it's specific for that app? Iagree there's some kind of fight going on there, maybe making sure that all other programs are closed before attempting install would help.
I had it installed last week. My wife received a virus in her mail and when she went to it all the cursor would do is show an hour glass and freeze on the mail page. After hours on the phone with with some techs trying to restore it we decided to use the compaq quick restore disk. But now it seems like it won't download the scanning software....Thanks all
