"games loading"

Hi there. I just restored my computer today. I could not get my puter to boot up. I tried using my norton rescue disk but that did not work. i also tried hitting f8 when the hp invent window came up to boot into safe mode. that would not work either it would stop at the splash screen but would not boot into windows. so i restored and everything is fine but my yahoo game windows wont open. they are java btw. I also updated my Java Virtual machine to the latest ones and it still wont load. when i hit detail in the error message it said" the server threw an exception" i have no idea what that means. so i tried to load other windows that reuqire java as well such as pogo and those windows loaded fine. everything but the yahoo game windows. my yahoo messenger loads fine. anyone have any idea what could be wrong? what does "threw an exception" mean? my friends online are in game rooms already and if they arent they havent had a problem loading in to the games.

I didn't see what OS you have, but if you have the IE repair tool I would run it as well as the System File Checker. They may either help,or give you a clue as to what could be wrong.Tuff

In the " Run " box type in MSINFO32. That should bring up the System Informatiom box. Look under Tools\IE Repair. You might also want to go to the MS Update sight and Reload MS Virtual Machine, to make sure that you have proper Java support. After running IE Repair you must reset your IE security and Privacy settings to "Default".

Hi. My IE (IE5.5) did not have an IE repair tool included with it. I also looked under Add/remove programs and unfportunately it does not include my IE 5.5 which I know would lead me to the IE repair tool. Also is there anyway to block my setting in control panel and my run command in the start menu and block my diskclean up from others users of my computer? TY in advance. My yahoo games windows are still not loading. Its been like this since yesterday now. Its sure frustrating. TY. I am using WIndows ME.

Well, easiest solution would be probably to DL and install IE 6.0. Much better than 5.5. You should notice a considerable speed increase ( Web browsing ) over IE 5.5 as well.
