WASHINGTON: US troops hunting accused terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden have detected his distinctive voice giving orders via hand-held radio to his al-Qaeda fighters in eastern Afghanistan, The Washington Times newspaper reported on Saturday.
Officials told the daily that the voice heard on the radio airwaves has been positively matched to known recordings of Bin Laden, providing evidence that he remains somewhere in the Tora Bora region of the White Mountains in eastern Afghanistan.
"They have picked him up on very short-range radio," a senior US official told the daily, adding that al-Qaeda soldiers had been detected responding to their leader. The sources told The Washington Times that the electronic monitoring is being carried out by Special Operations troops on the ground, and by spy planes and satellites as part of an intelligence dragnet to help US forces kill or capture Bin Laden.
Good news there,he would be harder to find if he had left the Country. It's just a matter of time, and they will help him go see Allah.I'm sure you heard the report that he has ordered the higher up in his organization to kill him, before anyone has the chance to capture him. That part is to bad,he doesn't deserve an easy death.Of course if all those who are supposed to shoot him are dead, then we have a new ballgame.(Well he said what?Soccer?)He can be the ball,we have plenty of players ,Tuff
