"Zone Alarm won't load at Startup"

Why in the world would Zone Alarm (version 2.6.362) not load at Startup, when it has been checked (in ZA Configuration) to do so; when it shows up in Start - Programs - Startup; and also is checked in Startup in System Configuration Utility -- in Windows XP Pro? Anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance.

Jaded, I just downloaded ZA latest version. If I remember correctly, there was a box to check if you wanted ZA to load at startup. Maybe it was in the 7 step set up you have to go through after downloading.
I had it keep my old settings, but I saw that the box was checked for it to load at startup.

Actually, Ropera, that's what I did -- installed ZA in Safe Mode. Could it be, that was a mistake?

No, but it is important to install the latest compatibility update available at the WinXP Update site.   It specifically states that it addresses issues with ZoneAlarm in WinXP.   I would suggest uninstalling ZA (per their directions) first, then apply the patch and then reinstall the latest version of ZA.

Well, believe it or not, Scotter, I'd done that, as well.

I was wondering if you have made the attempt to get rid of the
ZOnealarm splash screen??
