I am having blue screens a lot at random times, I have ever since I got this computer actually, each containing 017F:BFF9DBA7 as the error code. Sometimes the computer will act normally, but then, unexpectedly, that blue screen will come up over and over again upon pressing a key to continue. It is not from having too many programs open. I wish there was a way to get this crashing to stop! This computer is always crashing, many times reverting the registry back to an ABSURD date like a few months ago.
What operating system are you running? When did this start happening? Have you made any changes to the computer recently (eg installed software)? What is the make and model of the computer?
#3. "RE: 017F:BFF9DBA7 - UNIVERSAL WITH BLUE SCREENS" In response to vitalt (Reply # 2)
sorry I was writing my message here when I got a different blue screen that crashed and closed internet explorer - it was 06 and it occured at 6507:0000FFCB. Anyway it's been happening since we got it, the comp. company is ADN, moved to TN to sell skateboards (what'd you know) www.adn2000.com - I recently installed Microsoft Office XP, makes no difference, it has been doing this - registry goes back in time sometimes, I have Windows 98 - started in Windows 98, went to Windows ME, then back to Windows 98 with drive partitions. Throughout all both OS there still have been these crashes id better hurry up before i crash and all of this writing is wasted. The links you gave me i've seen and are of the same code but a different occurance time - maybe it was random for them and just happened to be when there were messing with ODBC ?
if you are having random bsods and not tied into any one program try playing with your ram. if you have multiple sticks remove one at a time and see what happens.
you can click on the crucial add at the top of the forum page and look through their site.use your pc model for their information or you can look at my other reply and click on the link.

Probably the easiest thing to do inside a computer is to remove and insert memory. At some point you have to stop letting the computer run you, and learn to run the computer.
