"boot up with new mobo"

I just put a brand new motherboard in my system and it won't do anything except turn the cpu fan on. I mean that's it. Nothing else,
no video or even trying to access the floppy or hd.
I just built this system and it worked fine with the exact same mobo except that board had a bad reset switch so I sent it back to the manufacturer for another one.
Any tips ? I've tried all I know !
System has win98,30g hd, k7ama mobo, 300w power supp,onboard sound,amr,nic

Have you tried it outside the case (to rule out that it's shorting out on the case)?

Most new boards require that the CPU fan be plugged into a specific fan header on the motherboard. This is so that the system will shut down if the fan fails. Make sure you're plugged into that marked header.

Make sure your video card, especially, and then everything else is fully seated or making a good, solid connection.
