"Hard Drive Question"

I have a 40GB hard drive, but in my "Standard CMOS Setup" it says that I that I have a 30GB Hard drive. In my CMOS "IDE Hard Disk Detection" it detects it as a 40GB. I am trying to fdisk the f-ing thing for my new computer. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Are you encountering any other problems other than that?
Have you tried letting fdisk detect your drive's capacity?

PS - What's your hard disk anyway? Can your system handle 40Gb?

After the IDE detection, did you update your configuration? ESCD, I think it is called; or does your PC do that automatically?
