"IE6 Security Update"

According to Windows Update site, I need a Critical Update which is a security update dated November 13, 2001. I tried numerous times to download and install it to no avail. It will download but not install. I even tried to go to MS download site hoping I would find it and manually download it. I closed out AV program, Norton Firewall and e-mail programs. Any ideas. I must have tried it twenty times already this morning.

Thanks, Tuff. But I already downloaded that one. Windows Update is still telling me that I need the one for November 13.

Even though you have installed the Critical Update, the Windows Update page doesn't see it because you didn't get it from there. I've had that happen numerous times when I've installed or reinstalled stuff from saved downloads that also come from the Update site. So if you installed it from the link Tuff provided, then you're fine.

I would think that it would overwrite itself.

I have the same thing on a couple of other items, the update site says I need them and they are already installed. You would think that they would auto update or whatever, but doesn't seem to work that way.Of course if that was the only place you updated, then it might be correct lol.I say might, then again I wouldn't bet on it ,Tuff
