"ZA & aol"


  

          

at my mothers and have been trying to fix her connection w/aol. everything is ok now except we cannot browse w/ZA turned on.it will connect to aol's links but you cannot get anywhere else. is there a prob w/aol & ZA?? i do not know very much about aol.i do have aol permited to access but it still will not go anywhere.

tried and tried to get them to do that but noooooo.
need some constuctive help here. are there issues w/aol and ZA??

If you do a search in this forum, you will find that my advice is probably the most constructive thing you could do with AOL.

From what I have seen and read, aol IS the issue 99% of the time.

Maybe what we need here is some input from others.

Which version of AOL? Version 7.0 works on my daughter's machine with ZA.

AOL (6.0 - 7.0 that I know of)works fine with ZA. Check your settings again.

she's using aol5 and it worked for awhile. maybe it got corrupted. not over there anymore but will d/l ZA next time i am there. thanks

Robarro,
Make sure that in ZA "Settings". you have Internet configured on
"Medium. If set on "High" you will not be able to connect to the Web and will receive "Unable To Display Page" message. "Low" setting is not enough protection. Make sure your AOL Temp and Download files are cleaned out on a regular basis. Hope this helps ya.

hey tom, thanks because i am sure it is set to high as that is the default setting. i'll check it next time (christmas) and see. that is the exact message she is getting. it's an 1 1/2 hours to get over there so i don't make the trip as often as i should. are you using aol?

Just a thought. AOL 5.0 is considered the buggiest version ever.

Hi Shelly, Actually, AOL v.6.0 and 7.0 are bloatware/crapware that still remain in beta. Real buggy. Connection problems to the Web and alot of other issues. V.5.0, which we are using, is the most stable version.
