" Adding to right click menue"

OK. I often use the right click option "copy shortcut" When i find something i want to be able to send to someone. I have done this on several occasions with Wav files.

Question? Is there a way to to add that option "copy shortcut" to the right click menue when i click a Wav file i have created with Windows Sound Recorder?

Yes but I think such a thing would be of minimal value. It would be a simple registry edit and stashing a short script to allow the option of copying a path statement for any wav file you create and then right click. However, unless your PC is acting as a server, it won't help your pals to tell them where a certain wav file is on your PC. You need a hyperlink that others can click and get to the file on the web.

You need a hyperlink that others can click and get to the file on the web.

I hate it when someone sends me a shortcut to something on their computer. LOL

Well i am not going to argue with a computer guru with 4183 posts but i don't understand that reply. Right now i have a very hilarious wav file i would like to post. I don't see anything wrong with that.I am reasonably sure that someone would enjoy it.

Not all shortcuts are created equal. Shortcuts (of the type with a lnk extension) created on your personal PC point to files present on your PC and can access those same files. Other shortcuts reference a URL and can access files that have been made available on the web (the type you are used to sending to friends). A shortcut on your PC that references a clever file on your PC will not be available to others unless you allow some or all of the files on your PC to be accessed from the Internet (very bad idea unless it is done correctly).

Find out if your service provider gives you any web space and create a page with the files you want to share. Once you do that, it will be easy to give your friends links to favorite files. Until then, you need to zip the files and send them as email attachments.
