"HELP ! Why Does Playing Yahoo Games Online Zap My Memory?"
Thu Dec-20-01 08:43 PM

SOMEONE ... ANYONE ... PLEASE HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS DILEMMA ??
I HAVE A MEDIUM-SPEED SYSTEM WITH 256 MEGS OF RAM ... O.S.> WINDOWS 98 S.E. AND MY BROWSER IS I.E.6 .
IN DAY TO DAY USE OF MY SYSTEM I AM LUCKY AND MY SYSTEM PERFORMS FLAWLESSLY ... EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE MALADY ???
I ENJOY PLAYING ONLINE GAMES AND WHEN I GO TO YAHOO TO PLAY ONLINE GAMES MY PROBLEMS OCCUR .... FIRST ... I ALWAYS CLOSE RUNNING PROGRAMS BEFORE I START TO PLAY and ONLY HAVE THE BASICS LOADING AT STARTUP.... AFTER PLAYING 2 TO 3 GAMES MY SOUND SIMPLY DISAPPEARS ... AFTER THAT OCCURS AND I TRY TO GET OUT OF YAHOO OR SIMPLY TRY TO CLOSE THE BROWSER OR ANY OTHER PROGRAM ... I RECIEVE A "LOW MEMORY" ERROR BOX ?? OF COURSE I CANNOT CLOSE OR OPEN "ANY" PROGRAM SO I'M FORCED TO COLD-BOOT ... HIT THE POWER BUTTON !!!
NATURALLY ... ONCE I REBOOT THE SYSTEM IT IS FINE ... UNTIL I GO BACK TO YAHOO ONLINE GAMES ... THEN IT SIMPLY REPEATS.
YES ... I COULD STAY AWAY FROM YAHOO ONLINE GAMES AND NEVER HAD THIS OCCUR AGAIN ... BUT ... THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ???
ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER ????
THANKS IN ADVANCE .... DESMOND CUMMINGS

Thank You ... Have A Graced Day

The Low Memory is most likely being caused by a Low System Resources problem.
IE: Too many things loading at Start Up.

See this link for a good description of ram vs resources.

And these links to help you reduce your startups.

I'm assuming you just aren't aware as opposed to being rude, but typing in all caps is considered yelling and exTREMELY hard to read. Not only will it not get your enquiry more respnses, it may keep some from answeing at all because of it.
