"website remembers computer"


          

how does a website keep track of your computer? i visited this website and it remembers my computer. afterward, i tried to delete the cookie and clear out any temp file. i went back to the website and it still know my computer. what can i do to clear out my computer trace from the website?

Download, install, and run CCleaner (CrapCleaner).

The Information was stored in your ( index.dat ) Files. You have one for "History", one for "Cookies" and one for "Content.IE5".

Darren's right about CCleaner. It's a great Program when you want to clean-up your Temp Folder.

Edit: Also, If you have some other Folder or Folder's, that you want to clean out regularly, you can add a Custom Pathway and clean that out too.

or maybe they just log IP addresses and your IP hasn't changed.
