that above link has this trick that claims to be able to block all porn sites from your computer but it seems to involve changing your DNS server
what is that about? If you did change the DNS server to the number they tell you too. what is happening. Are you like hooking up so some special network? would it be safe to do. Or would you open yourself up to prying eyes. or open yourself up to other things?
In this case, Greg, by examining the url you will note that the website associated with it is wordpress.com which is a legitimate site of Wordpress Inc. So, it should be 100%.
However, if you wish to be ultra-careful first, you can surf to the first portion of the url (overalltricks.wordpress.com)at check it out.

Instead of directly answering your question, Greg, I'll tell you a simple way to find answers to such questions for yourself.
If you enter your question (in this case, just as you wrote it here except you can leave the question mark off) in your Address line or Search Query line, you would receive tons of hits to answers that might even have additional info useful to you to better understanding specialized subject matter such as you're seeking here. Give it a try and let us know how it worked for you.
BTW (By The Way), good to see a new face here.

Actually, WordPress.com is the area that anybody can set up a blog using WordPress for free. WordPress provides the hosting and the software management. The domain is one HUGE multi-site installation of WordPress.
This means that I could start a "Cool Windows Tips" blog on WordPress.com and include "helpful" tips that actually cause harm. WordPress might take the blog down after awhile, but I wouldn't say that anything on a WordPress.com page comes from WordPress and is therefore trustworthy. WordPress' own site is on WordPress.org.
