"Wuapp.exe missing"

OS = Windows 10 Pro.

I noticed that the program "wuapp.exe" is missing from my computer.
It may of been removed by one of the many Windows 10 updates that were done on my computer.

If any one is using Windows 10 Pro could you check if it on your computer and let me know.

Also do you have any idea on how to get it back on my computer?

Thank You
TV Man 436 163

This link describes some solutions there is an auto fix button but since I know nothing of the site I hesitate recommending using that particular method. There are other manual fixes to try.

I have pro and and I don't seem to have it on my computer.Further reading it seems the Troubleshooter method seems to work.

I have run the troubleshooter and it repaired nothing.
Did it restore "wuapp.exe" for your computer?

OK, I just tried that and got exactly the message you get. But I have never updated Windows that way. Try doing it through Windows Update in the Control Panel.

Jim.

I have 33 of them - BUT, all are located in files I copied (for backup on a separate partition) from my wife's computer about 2 years ago - more or less.

I have none in my Win 10 Pro OS partition.

Are you getting an error message?

Jim.

Since August 2015 Microsoft tucked deprecated (replaced with something else because) wuapp.exe and enclosed the functionality withing the windows system settings app. To check for updates now, select the Start
Windows logo Start button
button and then go to Settings
Gear-shaped Settings icon
> Update & security
Circular arrows Sync icon
> Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your PC is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Note: If not all desired updates are applied, the settings by default only apply updates for the core operating system. All other functionality must be requested by going to:
On the Microsoft Update site, click Change Settings.
Scroll down the page, click to select the Disable Microsoft Update software and let me use Windows Update only check box, and then click Apply changes now.
