This problem just started. Don't know if it related to an MS update. The mouse and keyboard are connected using an MS wireless adapter into a USB port. If I don't click the mouse the cursor will not move after about a 10 second idle time. At first I thought it was a low battery in the mouse. It gets recharged by placing it in the holder so I left it over night with the PC ON. No change. Uninstalled the driver and re-started, same problem.
Installed a USB mouse and it would not work at all. I know the mouse works since I took it from another PC.
I even rebooted to see if the USB mouse would get picked up. It did not! Very strange.
Checked the batteries in the mouse. Should be NICAD at 1.2 v, each read 1.37 so they are fully charged. Did a mouse /base reset and the cursor moved as expected with the mouse.
Left it idle for 15 seconds, now it is working properly.
To make sure the wireless mouse was not operational while checking the USB mouse, I removed the battery. It was out for about a minute while I check the voltages. Maybe that was all that was needed. In any case it seems to be working at this time. Regards,
