"Verizon switched to AOL Mail"

OS=Windows 10 Pro

My internet provider Verizon switched to AOL Mail.
AOL Mail stinks.

When I open Edge:
I have a window on my AOL Mail page playing a video with sound.
I must press a button in the lower left area of the window to stop the video from playing and turn the sound off.
All my other browsers (Firefox IE Chrome) do the same thing.
My question is how can I open Edge with out the video running?

(First thought was, Verizon just bought Yahoo, so what does AOL have to do with things.

Seems Verizon bought AOL some time back.

Seem both Yahoo & AOL may be on the "out".

I know nothing of Edge.)

Yup, I was "forced" to switch to AOL some time ago when Verizon cancelled their email service. Yes, I do believe that Verizon now owns AOL, although the service rep at Verizon did not believe me when I called to complain.

I am thinking of switching all the companies that I do business with to another email, but God what a pain. Actually the only thing that I do no like about AOL is their GAZILLION pop-up adds trying to get me to try their pc cleaners, pc un-freezers, and pc speeder-uppers. Get at least two of those pop-ups with every visit to check my email.

Perhaps it is your Email client. Before the switch I had Verizon mail on Thunderbird and the switch was seamless. I don't get any of the garbage you are talking about, just my mail.
