"Firefox problems"

About 3 weeks ago I started Firefox (my default browser) and it opened minimised. I didn't pay much attention at the time but when I clicked on a link, it opened it but at the same time a 2nd and a 3rd copy of Firefox also opened. These unwanted copies then started to open other links in no particular order and kept going as long as the main one was open.

I rebooted my computer (Win10, 8GB RAM) but the same thing happened. Opened minimised and started several copies in the taskbar. I couldn't access the unwanted sites, nor close them. I also lost my homepage which was FVD Speed Dial. I tried dragging Firefox to the corner of the screen, maximising it, then closed it (the unwanteds always closed with it) and restarted it. No go, it still opened in minimised mode. It has gone from the best browser I've had to virtually unusable. Has anyone else had similar problems with Firefox? I did a Search but found nothing.

Try these fixes from Mozilla.

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.
