"Write Protected Backup Drive. Help."

My old computer crashed, so I replaced it with a new Dell.

Fortunately, I had used Macrium to create daily backups, so I used Macrium to create a new drive containing the backup data, and then I copied files from the ‘new’ drive to the new computer.

The next day, when I tried to copy more files from the external drive to the new computer, I received the following message when I attempted to open the folder on the ‘new’ hard drive: ‘The media is write protected.’ It had worked the first day, but now it doesn’t allow me access.

I have spent hours Googling the issue, but no resolution, and there are important files that I need to access on the backup drive.

Help?

Thanks,
Richard
