Here are links for your own 32 and 64 bit .iso installers directly from Microsoft. They are 24 hour links. If there is an interest I will keep updating them for a little while. I prefer to have my own .iso installer. They are in English.Post if you need another language.

The .iso's are nice for clean installs and even upgrading more than 1 computer.4GB each time to download is not fun.

They are also nice for repairing system file corruption. When I checked system updates the download was already underway so I let it do it's own thing. I have very fast Fios so downloads like that are not a problem. Microsoft server time is another thing and draws the time out but I had Dr. appointments leading up to a Knee replacement so everything was ready for a restart when I got home. I actually prefer using your method.

I've downloaded the x64 ISO but before I go further, I have to ask. Is this for USA Win10 or any English country? I'm in Australia and we usually get the updates on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Esentially, they are the same. The International version contains localized English keyboard languages (like United kingdom, Australia, etc.).

Many thanks. I'll install it in the morning. Hopefully it might even have got rid of that stoopid BitDefender thing that displays every reboot and shutdown.

Holy Updates, Batman! Over an hour to download, but that's OK, over 4GB after all but....almost 9 hours to install! Admittedly only 8GB of RAM but just as well I started early in the morning and I haven't even browsed thru all the new settings yet. Maybe by Christmas.

You must have a slow processor, or your hard drive has problems. You can check the hard drive with the Health tab on Defraggler. Don't go by Defraggler's Health status, look at the numbers. Numbers in the millions or more for Spin up time or Command timeout indicate problems. Also anything greater than zero for Seek Error Rate, Reported Uncorrectable Errors, Current Pending Sector Count, Uncorrectable Sector Count or UltraDMA CRC Error Count are all indicators of a failing drive.

Something terribly wrong there. You should shift your focus on solving that problem first. Anything else with a computer running like that is a waste of time. It certainly sounds like a failing hard drive.

Everything else is OK except the Command Timeout which is Mt. Everest: 8,590,065,672. A bit high, methinks.

Wanna swap computers?? There's $10 in small, unmarked bills in a plain brown envelope in it for you, sent to any Swiss bank account of your choice. I'll throw in my cat to sweeten the deal . Seriously, a HD change is on the cards very soon.

That link doesn't work but this one does, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/ but only problem with that is you only get a real link to the .iso if your on Win XP or Vista machine. If your on Win 7 thru 10 you get links to either download the update assistent or the media creation tools and not the link for the .iso. There is a trick to force it to give you the link but many here would find it complicated to do. Thats why I just give you the links.

Secure links will not work correctly with the Forum's "Link" button. Click on your link to see the URL that results when a secure URL address is entered.
