"Avast problems"

I've been using Avast anti virus for some time but after installing Malwarebytes, I uninstalled it not wanting a clash between 2 AV programs. Most of it uninstalled but AvastUI is still stuck in my Ccleaner, it shows up in my taskbar and even in my registry under HKEY/Current User/Software.

I cannot remove any of them, even from the registry with admin privileges, only from the HD and Control Panel using Powerful Uninstall. I considered reinstalling it again and then trying to uninstalling to see if that works but first I'd like to ask if anyone else has come across something similar. Very strange that it seems to load a program that no longer exists and won't allow me to get rid of it even from the registry.

You might have to reinstall Avast and then run this uninstaller.

Jim.

Been using Malwarebytes real time, with Avast free AV for quite a while, with no signs of any problems. The 2 programs don't appear to clash in any way. Another uninstaller you might try is Revo Uninstaller.

Well, that worked...almost. I reinstalled Avast, then uninstalled it, that is, most of it. The registry is clean too now but it did leave the secure browser. I don't mind that, it has a separate item in CP so should be easy to uninstall but I might use it anyway for such things as banking etc. It has a different look to the version I've had so maybe it didn't update or something.
