Are not showing up in File Explorer. They show up in Device Manager, recognized by windows and are functional, but they do not show up as drives in File Manager. I would have thought that Windows 10 would have done that automatically after I had to re-install windows 10 after a computer failure.
I really need them to show up as individual Drives, E: and F: as they are named. Thanks for any help that you might give me.

There are repair procedures but it sounds like you will probably have to go to the end step 5 and delete the upper and lower filters for your CD/DVD drives and restart to rebuild them in the registry. Follow the instructions exactly if other measures do not work. This has been going on for years, it's nothing new. Most commonly a burning program of some type corrupts the filters. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/314060/your-cd-or-dvd-drive-is-not-recognized-by-windows-or-other-programs
Thanks for the reply and I will check it out soon. However, the drives are recognized by windows and are in the Device Manager showing no yellow markers. They are functional and are showing to be operating properly, which they are to a certain degree.
The problem is that they are not showing as drives in File Manager. However if I load some Media in either of them they will show up in the File Manager, but disappear if I take the Media out of them.
It could be, as you noted, that it is a corrupted registry key and I will pursue that over the weekend.
Thanks for the reply and I will be back at the first of the week and let you know I came out.
check under the folder options....do you have the option checked to hide empty drives. Not sure which is the default, but mine doesn't show empty (but working) drives.
I am afraid I have to apologize for the above posts. I completely missed the part that the drives were functional. I have been off my game since my knee replacement a little more than a month ago. I think Barb is probably on the right track. If you go to computer management, highlight Device manager and go up to view at the top the drop down menu will have the option to show hidden devices. I don't know if that will help but I doubt it would be there if you didn't have the option to hide the drives.
The original post says the drives are shown in the Device Manager which is what led me to my answer. (Control Panel/File Explorer Options/view). I tried to add a pix, but no luck with that this morning.
Take care during your convalescence - I know those knee replacements can be tricky until fully healed.
Thanks for the replies. I followed the suggestions that Barb made and I now am able to backup to those drives. A big thanks to both you and Barb. I am now a happy camper. I hope that the recovery from your operation goes well Grey Falcon.
