"So I need you guys to tell me exactly how...."

I have a dell 5567, 7 mo old, the one i have had problems with alot. I got it with a 256 SSD. It is my first SSD and I love the speed. Added Ram, now has 12G. I have bought a 480 SSD which will be here tomorrow. I assume it comes with one drive, unpartioned.I have read on HOW to use disk management and have done it on older drives. I want to get it right . Exactly WHAT should I partition it to. I really have no use for a separate partition for personal files, etc . I just got this one back to running really well and want to just take it out and put larger one in, format, install and go! Will It run correctly if I just simply install windows 10 and go...
Thanks

https://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-free-and-reliable-cloning-tools/ The drive you bought might have it's own cloning software, check out their Web Site.

I really have no need to clone it at all. There is nothing on it i need that is not already backed up. I just want to put the new ssd in and install Win10 and Poof, it runs. I just want to know if i MUST format and do partitions or just leave it as it comes in .

If you clone it you will bring all the dell drivers with it. If you have provided installation media from dell just install it to the drive's unallocated space as the drive came from the factory, Win 10 will handle everything. You may have to enter your Service Tag on the dell site for some drivers and utilities.

I have installed 10 on a few laptops lately and not once did I need to get drivers which has been nice. It seems 10 has a good repository of drivers included.
