"Cloning Folder and File Discrepancies"

A few days ago, I posted regarding installing a new SSD drive in my desktop, cloning my C: drive to the SSD, and then using the SSD as my C: drive.

After the cloning I noticed the Folder and Files discrepancies shown below.

How concerned should I be regarding the discrepancies?

Thanks, Richard

Mmm, that's odd since I thought cloning was a sector by sector copy.
What did you use for cloning?
Some software uses an Intelligent Copy such as Macrium Reflect but I didn't know this was the default.
Plus I would have thought the ssd would have been a lot smaller if it had done this.
But I don't know much about what it does actually copy.
FWIW:
From Macium Blog - Intelligent sector copy - Copy only file system sectors/clusters that are in use. This reduces the time to create the clone as unused file system clusters are not copied.

If the process went with no error messages I think I would trust it to be OK.
You could always try it and if there was a problem put the HD back.

Pcqandaman,

Boy, is my face red .

I did the first clone yesterday evening and did not compare the 2 disk properties until this morning ... after I had briefly used the computer AFTER the cloning. So OF COURSE the 2 disk properties would not match.

So I just finished re-cloning the C: drive -- immediately after checking the C: properties -- and now you can see how close the numbers are, only a 7 file difference:

Thanks, Richard.

It boots MUCH faster.

Also, it seems like just about everything I do on the computer is faster: opening Word and Excel files, browsing through pictures, I guess anything that accesses the SSD drive is faster.

I should have made this move a long time ago, but it seems that in the early days of SSD drives, they were sometimes unreliable, and they were expensive.

Thanks again for all your help (and for not making fun of me for my bonehead move).

Richard
