I've been playing around with a sick desktop Win 7 computer. While fiddling with it, one of the external drives slipped and fell about a foot or so onto a relatively soft surface, BUT, now the drive says it is 'Not Initialized.' I don't want to lose the data on this drive. It was a standard NTFS drive. Can I savely initialize the drive? If not, what do I do?

I would try it in another USB port with another cable in case either one of them were damaged. You can remove the drive from the case and try a direct connection to the computer. If none of those work the drive itself may be damaged.
