"New Browser in Town"
Sun Jan-05-20 02:51 PM by KJT

Well, kinda new.

Apparently Microsoft has decided that if you can't beat 'em, become them.

MS's Edge browser has now been "Chromed" - at least in beta form.

According to MS, you can run old Edge and new beta Edge without conflict in case anyone is actually using old Edge.

I've run beta Edge about a week now without any anomalies. It just works and seems quite fast - just like Chrome. In fact it's hard to discern any substantive differences.

Beta Edge even allows downloading extensions from the Google store.

No, Ccleaner doesn't "clean" it yet (as far as I know), (unlike Chrome), so for now, it has to be done manually.

The first Edge based on chromium(non beta) is supposed to be released on the 15th of this month. I have been using the beta for a couple of months now.

Though Chrome Edge will entirely, irreversibly replace MS Edge (I suppose on release).

(If I'm recalling...

I believe Edge allow you to have a title bar.

When quitting Edge, it remembers multiple windows (& on reopen, reopens those, if you have that setting set, where Chrome would only remember the last window?

Edge seemed to have a better layout of its' Preferences...

In any case, Firefox, for all that is wrong with it/Mozilla, cough, cough, is still more configurable, compared to Chrome.)
