I have an ethernet cable which is quite a distance from the router. Is there any way that I can use two computers off of that line? It would be quite difficult to run another cable.
Get a 5 port ethernet switch. Plug in the line from the router and then you can plug in up to 4 other connections for computers, printers or other devices that need a wired connection.
Matter of fact, just yesterday I was asked, "will I need to run another home run?", & I was like, yes.
Never thought of it like that. Now it's like, duh!
Have switch by the modem/router, with home runs to 8 rooms. Want a second line in a particular room, connect the existing to a switch & connect two lines to that...
Smart .
