"There's a new version of CCleaner"

And it now includes Edge Chromium.

However there appear to be a few kinks that need to be worked out - at least there were on my Win10 pro.

It doesn't remove the previous version of CCleaner but it does delete any cookies set to be saved from cleaning in the earlier version.

So you will apparently have to re-login to get those cookies back and then again save them in CCleaner. Maybe there is a way to transfer excluded cookies but I didn't look for a way.

It doesn't transfer the previous version's personalized settings so you can open both old and new versions side-by-side to easily copy over your preferred setting.

The new version's settings may remove things you don't want removed so check the settings before allowing it to scan and remove anything.

And it does other things you may not want it to do - but you probably would have buy the advanced "payware" version to be concerned with this.

It seems as if they've observed Malwarebytes sales paradigm and fallen in love with it.

Jim.

I've given up on CCLeaner for now.

This popup opens when CCleaner is opened and cannot be removed except by closing CCleaner itself and CCleaner can't be run (unless minimized) because the popup covers the "Run Cleaner" button.

I'll probably fool with it again this evening.

Jim.

Edit: After trying many combinations of settings and closing and opening CCleaner many times, the popup has disappeared.

I wish I knew what I did to eliminate it, so I could help anyone else having this problem, but I don't have any idaa.

Edit 2: OK, figured it out. Deleting the Avast cookie is what triggers the popup. And, no the Avast cookies is not listed in either the "Cookies on Computer" or the "Cookies to Keep" lists within CCleaner>Options>Cookies.
