"Wireless not connected"

This morning I turned on my WIN10 PC to see there was no wireless connection. My WIN 7 PC had no problems connecting. The Verizon modem shows inter net connectivity. I did see an update on WIN 10 this morning.
I have rebooted the router, restarted the PC, shut off the PC and back on. I have run the Network troubleshooter and it could not fix the problem.
I tried to reconfigure the SSID of the PC adapter but I can not find how to do it. Opening the Network icon it shows the available networks and when I try the 'Connect' it comes back 'Can not connect'

Since my WIN7 machine connects it has to be the SSID. I've also checked the device driver and all is working properly.

Any clues?

Regards,
wings515

Does WIN 10 show up in the router config?

I can connect my WIN 10 with cat5, no problem.
I mis-typed.
What I am looking for is how to reset the WAP2 code in my WIN 10 machine.

It has to be stored someplace so it automatically gets retrieved on Startup.
I have forgotten the login name for the router so I can't get into it.

Thanks for the reply,
wings515

Did some more testing. Did a complete reset of the network adapter and entered the correct WAP2 code. I checked the properties of the adapter and all were enabled.
The "Connect automatically when in Range" is ON.
I still get 'Can't connect to this network'.

If I do an ipconfig, all media both Ethernet and Wireless show
Disconnected

My WIN 7 machine is connected using wireless.

I'm at a loss right now.

Thanks,

Dan K

Had a similar problem with my neighbors computer. It would not connect wired or wireless. Turned out the network had locked in on a public network. I had to change it to private and now all is well. Some things seem to be getting scrambled with the latest updates.

After doing all I could I opted to reload WIN10. Waiting the extended time to install, now I have to download and install all my other apps.
It did however reboot and connect using the wireless adapter and I did not have to enter my WAP2 code. Go figure!

I just wonder what caused this to happen.

Seems to me, the easiest thing to do, would have been to contact your internet provider. Could be, they might have come up with a quick answer.

After looking at all I could think of, I re-installed WIN10. As soon as it was finished installing the wireless connection became active. I did not even have to enter my WAP2 code.
I did however have to re-install all my apps and re-save all my passwords. UGGGH!

Just another MS undocumented feature.

Dan K
