"Icons at start up."

Hi,

I have a UMAX scanner and Kodak picture tranfer software.
When i power up the icons for the two programs appear in the toolbar at the bottom right along with the clock.
It takes a while to power up as i think it's looking for this software, as soon as the icons appear it's fine.
The kodak software flashes up a welcome page then goes off.
Is there a way of stopping these programs starting at startup, i have looked at the options on the software but cannot find anything to disable them at startup.
Thanks
Paul

Assuming you are using W98, you can uncheck those programs in msconfig/startup. There is no need for those programs to run at startup, you can start them when you need them.

Thanks Shelly, that's sorted it.
There were a few more programs i unchecked aswell which don't need to run at start up.
It fires up alot quicker now.
