Yeah, 99% Urban Legend. I think the 1 % that was true was that Col. North did in fact purchase a security system for his home, but that was after the FBI or CIA had caught Libyan?? nationals attempting to get into his home.

Ollie North ---isn't he the guy that sold weapons to terrorist countries, that supportted osama been hiding???

There's urban legends. And here is a country truth!

Within the last year, my wife and I were in Cashiers, NC visiting my parents. Dad and I went to Ingalls for some groceries. In line behind us was Oliver North with a loaf of bread. And there was no mistaking him. He was very cordial to all and clearly a gentleman.

My Dad, who is in his late 70's and runs circles around me, introduced himself to Colonel North, who upon finding out that Dad was a World War II Marine, exclaimed "God bless you!" The two spoke for several minutes about his show and Dad's squadron and assignment in the Pacific arena.

It's amazing who else can be seen in the Highlands-Cashiers area. But that's another story.
