I really envy you Al, you have the Yankees,... I have the Tigers (and the Lions). Oh well, I do still have the Red Wings.

The last time M.M. played at Tiger Stadium, Denny McLain deliberately fed him a gofer ball which Mantel hit for a home run. Mantel had always been a hero of McLain's. McLain was the last single season 31 game winner and there will probably never be another. Too bad McLain turned crooked in retirement and is now serving time.

Center field at Tiger Stadium was one of the deepest in which to hit a home run. Following along those lines, the current Comerica Park where the Tigers play also has very long dimensions, so long in fact that they are considering moving them in a bit.

My first live baseball game was the fifth game of the '68 world series. Tigers were down, three games to one. They won that game and the series. Don't even look at them sinse Sparky left. The Lions I have to watch every Sunday as I'm in love with a Lions fan (use that word loosely) and come from a family of die hards. Like you said, at least you have the Wings! A close friend calls them his "beloved".

My first live game goes back quite a bit farther, freespirit. It was probably 1945 or 1946, and Tommy Bridges was pitching his first game after returning from service in WW II. I was about 9 or 10 and sat in the bleachers way out in center field.

Well, now the fun begins between me and my father-in-law. He's an old-time Brooklyn Dodgers fan and hates the Yankees. I'm a Yankees fan. So the better the Yanks do, the more quiet I get about matters relating to baseball around him.

I'm rootin' for the Giants!!

Barry Bonds is the best hitter since George Sisler & "Chino" Smith.........plus Bonds has the "supporting" cast.

Being originally from Wisc., I used to be a, that's right, a Brewers fan. But for the past 10 years or so, I've been a loyal Yankee fan. They were the best team of the 20th century, and hopefully they can continue. I think they won 25% last century. Excellent!!
Them losing last year was a fluke.
This year...all the way!!

1 down, 10 to go...

Great games so far..

Personally, I'm hoping for an old NY rivalry to resurface in the Series...Yanks and Giants..

Would love to see Dusty Baker and Barry Bonds get a shot..and may the best team win in a great 7 game series..(of course, I think that'll be the Yankees...)

Yankees?!! We don't need no stinkin' Yankees! Oh, it's we don't need no stinkin' badges? Sorry, Al. Must have dozed off between innings.

I think they will go in the first round, much to the dismay of David Letterman. }>
