Sat Oct-12-02 09:04 AM

Well folks its on again the big race on the big track,Sunday morning start 1000 klms race (about 600 miles)52 cars. The wives of Australia rejoice when this weekend is over as they may get a bit of work done around the house of a sunday.Me I'm glued to the set nearly all of this weekend as there are quite a few interesting preliminary races.

Heres a link to one of the sites:

Gotta go now the historic race is about to start.

Edit I found a better link

Great link, Woodsie, thanks. I'd never seen all that for Bathurst.
You'd be a Holden man, wouldn't you?

Here's another one for the airshow in Melbourne in Feb. I'll have to miss this time because I'll be in New York.

I'd love to see that race televised here. Probably is, but I've got stone age budget cable service where the pictures are drawn on stone tablets and displayed in a window on my cave wall by highly trained cave rats. Can't wait until they light up the fiber optic line that runs through my yard. Maybe I could even get broadband then! I like that kind of car racing. I also like the Pike's peak race too!

Yeah malcolm I am a Holden man the general often prevails at Bathurst.
It would be nice to see Peter Brock get up another win that would be his even ten wins.

Giddy it doesnt compare with Pikes Peak in terms of mountains. By North American standards Mt Panorama is a small hill but oh boy what racing .
Theres an ad that goes "620 brake horsepower...300 kms per hour...40mm apart..What are these guys on...Dunlop of course.

Used to be The Great Race. Now it's decided by who uses the safety car the best. Skaife seriously bent the rules on the last restart and was allowed to get away with it.
