Hi. We are having problems hooking up the PS2 to play online with cable. My cable provider sees no problem, and we are trying it directly to the modem, and can't get a connection. We seem to be doing everything correctly, but ----nothing. Anyone have any ideas on obvious things to check? Thanks,

I don't have a playstation, so I can't be much more help. I'm assuming that at some point you had a computer hooked to your modem and everything worked fine?

Yes, computer works fin . It's probably something simple we just aren't seeing.

Hello again. I have a happy teenager again! Sorry I didn't reply about the connection MadDad, we have been really busy-getting new carpet and have been off-line. Well, I think you were looking in the right direction when you asked about my connections. We have 3 computers connected with a hub. It turns out after the second time we talked to the cable people they said we needed a router. (I don't know why the first guy didn't tell me that) Linksys did the trick! Within a few minutes of walking into the house with the new router,he was online with his playstation. What a relief. As an added bonus, my husband bought me a new cell phone while we were in Future Shop!!! He gets my old one, so everybody is happy! Thanks for your time,
