PATyson was having trouble posting a pic as well... lemme see if this works. If you see a picture of a really messy desk, it works!

Attachment #1, (jpg file)

Are you following these instructions, I think that the size limitation is 50KB............

"How do I post images?"
......you can also upload an image.....by clicking on Click here to choose your file on the post form. This will launch a remote window through which you can specify the file extension and browse your disk to select the file you wish to upload. Once the file is selected, the attachment textbox will automatically be populated with the name of your uploaded file. All files are randonmly renamed. Keep in mind that there is a size limitation to file upload.

It's only 10kb. I get the "forbidden" message when I choose "Click here to choose your file".

Les,

If you use IE, do you have PCQ&A in the "Trusted zone?" Can you post the exact text of the message, or was that it?

When anyone clicks on the "Click here to choose your file," it is a link to this:

makeRemote('http://www.pcqanda.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=upload_file&forum=')

Do you have Javascript enabled?

I fixed it so that the above link is not "clickable,"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache/1.3.23 Server at www.pcqanda.com Port 80

This is what I get. JAVA is enabled and pcqanda is in my trusted sites. I get this even if I disable my firewall.

What firewall? Do you have a popup stopper, ad blocker or such enabled?

Edit: this is what you should see when you click on the link:

Running Norton Personal Firewall 2003. It has ad blocking and pop up blocking. I still get the "forbidden" message with them disabled.

Les,

Is this site (www.pcqanda.com) listed in the NIS trusted sites (or whatever they call it)?

Yes...https://www.pcqanda.com. The https is required for server verification. Also tried it without the server verification requirement but that didn't work either.....

Les,

It's got to be a security setting, either in IE or in NIS. Reply to this post and look to the left for this:

Click on the "HTML Reference" link. Do you get a POP up box?

Happy Day.....Suddenly it works. I've been messing with the security options for pcqanda in my firewall settings. I'm not exactly sure which setting changed but I have the option to choose a file attachment again. Thanks for your help Marti..

P.S. Just went back and checked all the settings in my firewall and everything appears to be the same as it was before this started....Oh well, it works now.....

YEAH!

I thought it was a security setting, glad you found it. When you get a chance, document your settings, both in IE and in NIS (I use screen shots). That way, you won't have to mess around with settings if you have to reload your system, or such. (And you will have the answer for the next guy that has IE and NIS )
