Thanks jxdesign. I live in PA and we got a notice on our phone bill. Signed right up. They said it would probably be February before we noticed a difference. Can't wait as the telemarketers have been driving us nuts lately.

I signed up about two months ago at a booth that was set up by the Attorney General at a county fair. Mine should be taking affect within the next couple weeks. I've actually noticed recently that the number of calls I'm getting has gone up. I guess they're all trying to get in under the wire.

We've had the no call law here in Indiana for close to 2 years and I hope it works as good for you all in PA, as it has here.

I sent this link to my sis that lives near Pittsburgy, and here's what she had to say.....(keep in mind she isn't the brightest color in the Crayon box ) (jk)

"thanks --- I had heard about this on the news awhile ago, thought about doing it and then thought: hmm, if I go to a website and put my phone #, name etc on it, will I get MORE calls? yeah, yeah, I know, the site is "secure" and all that -- anyway, I never did get a "roundtuit" and then one night on the news I heard that people who had signed up on this list were actually getting MORE calls and the news people said this process still had some kinks to work out -- hahaha!
So, in the end, I am still not "on the list".

Here in IN if we signed up for the no calls, and still get calls from solicitors, we can turn them in and they can get fined. Surely it will be that way in PA also.

That is the way in PA also. However, if you notice in my post above, I've started to recieve more calls than ever. I'm attributing that to them trying to get as many calls in as they can before they are not permited to. The way ours works (probably the same as yours) is that the list is updated every quarter and distributed to all the telemarketers. They then have 30 days to stop calling those individuals. So...they have a list of people they are to stop calling but still have 30 days to just blast them with as many as they can before the deadline.
