Silent Hill 2 is finally coming out for the PC. This is the only game that has ever scared me so bad that I had to turn the lights on when I was playing it on the old PlayStation 1. I can't wait to pee my pants!

It's a game. Both Silent Hill 1 and 2 were exclusively for the Playstation, but fortunally that looks like it's going to change. I haven't played either one of them on account of the fact that I'd probably end up crawling into a corner and staying there for the next few years if I did. Hell, Thief 1 was enough to scare the crap out of me.

The first one had probably the best ever cinematics (as far as creativity, realism, poo-in-your pants effects) of any game for the PS1, way better than even the stuff in Parasite Eve. The launch date is for "mid-October", so it should be hitting shelves any day now. The only trailers I know of are hosted by those dastardly sites that force you to register to download, but you can get it at http://www.fileplanet.com/download.aspx?f=69488 if you don't mind registering. GameSpy is legit, lots of games require it for online play now (like ArmyOps, Medal of Honor, etc.). I'll see if I can find a site that has it without all the registration crud.
it's hard to imagine a game being scary. i've never played those games so i guess i'll have to see. is it as scary as when i was in high school and would drive out to the Parnell cemetary, waaaay out in the woods, at night, where it was a fact you could see the head floating in the air of a girl who lost it in a car accident? that scary?
Scarier than that. Think of the feeling you used to get (and that I still get) when you hear the theme to Halloween. Better yet, turn out all the lights in your house, turn up the Home Theater, and watch the Excorcist 20 times.
Thats something that is definitely missing from PC gaming. Not near enough "scary" games. The kind with things jumping out at you, trying to bite off your leg.
I did though, find AvsP2 and The Thing, to have "some" moments.
Yeah, I'm with you DM. That is by far, the most scary game of all time. I never jumped so much!! Also, you'd better get some *Depends* then, I won't need 'em.
Gravity....not just a good idea, it's the law! My Magic
