6 more mysterious radio signals have been detected coming from outside our galaxy
"Back in March, scientists detected 10 powerful bursts of radio signals coming from the same location in space. And now researchers have just picked up six more of the signals seemingly emanating from the same region, far beyond our Milky Way.
These fast radio bursts (FRB) are some of the most elusive and explosive signals ever detected from space - they only last milliseconds, but in that short period of time, they generate as much energy as the Sun in an entire day. But despite how powerful they are, scientists still aren't sure what causes them."

As our instrumentation improves we are detecting ever more "signals" from space. This is only natural, and not any indication of communication.
Most are from many light centuries away, and began their journey long before complex life forms developed on Earth. They are interesting in that they offer clues to how the universe evolved.

Thanks for the link. The first report I saw came from Google News linking to an "Astronomers Found Aliens" story. The basic facts of finding the radio signals were true, but the article spun it as if this was proof positive that little green men were signaling us. My BS meter went haywire and I figured this wasn't the complete truth.
Are aliens a possibility? Sure, but there's a much greater chance that this a natural phenomenon. Aliens would require a whole lot more proof than "we found some odd radio signals." It's nice to see that the scientists weren't the ones jumping to this conclusion, though still frustrating that the state of science reporting is so abysmal.
