Someone told me if I buy a car from Portland OR, I won't have to pay tax. Is that true?

Thats true, but I believe its only if you REGISTER the vehicle in Oregon.

You will have to pay sales tax when you license the car in WA.

Oh I see now.
So buying from Portland doesn't help unless I live there.
