I read this thread and then MailWasher rang in to give me this:

"Dear c2itsm Customer,
c2itsm is currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and placed on Hold status. Protecting the security of your c2itsm account is our primary concern, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
To restore your account to its regular status, you must confirm your email address by logging in to your c2itsm account using the form: "

What a coincidence.

I really expected as much.I had replied to it using "Bullshit" as my user name and"screwyou" as my password.I immediately got a timeout message giving me the option to "continue working off line or relog on" which surprised me.The thing looked like it had been written by the same Nigerian who frequently offers millions for helping him .My reference to recent college grad was because of a recent contact with one who wrote a letter with similar grammer to that in the yahoo spin. Thanks all, for comfirming my suspicions.

Well, it could be that they were found out and taken offline already, or it could simply be the response that their script spits back to keep you from realizing that the username and password was just passed on to the scam artist for their own nefarious use. (Granted, they won't get much use out of your "creative" login info. )

I know! You sure didn't see any malevolence amongst college graduates of 50 years ago, since they were all amicable and wonderful people.

Seriously though, I could turn your statement around and say that the only reason this scam works at all is because of the computer illiteracy of your generation, but that would be an equally stupid generalization.

There were not as many college grads in my day. When we finished High School many had to go to work and had the math and tools to survive that many of todays do not.It was not uncommon to have to repeat a grade if you did not pass the tests.I'm certain that you are a bright young man, and hope you will not take this personally. My experience in hiring many young men made me suspicious of the education some of them were getting. Many had to take additional classes to make up for what they failed to get in High School.I am not trying to paint with too broad a brush but that was not as common in the 30s.You passed the tests or you were flunked. That is not as true today!!I am in awe of the knowledge diplayed by so many of my PCQandA family and doubt that many of them floated through College like it seems possible to do today
