"I think I'm losing interest(rambling)" Sun Oct-06-02 05:49 AM
Well it sunday morning again, time to think about the week ahead. This evening after tea its a three hours drive. The weekend seems to be shrinking.I find that I would probably rather be outside. It is spring!! So I find myself wondering why waste time in front of this box? I guess what i'm thinking about is the pros and cons of having a computer at my work house. I live less than a kilometre from where I work and have access to mail and a quick look in there.Trouble is if I to work in me own time they get me to actually work. On the plus side its good IM with me kids, theyre at an age where theyve got a stack of questions for the old man.Dean is 13 going on 35, Laurence is 11.. The plan originally was to buy a house in the town I work, but because its only a very small isolated town (Collinsville Qld :pop 1000 17 dogs and a few cows)we decided against buying. I've committed to the job for five years..so I might just hang back a bit on making plans and see what eventuates.Who knows I could drop dead tomorrow well i'm insured anyway.
I dunno i guess I'm at a crossroads in the path of life. Edit I lost the picture maybe next week I may have more direction,my astrologer told me I need to create.

You need a computer in your house because: We'd miss you here if you didn't!
Seriously though, I hope everything works out for you. If you take things one day at a time, when things are beyond your control, you should feel better about it at least.

a laptop maybe...something you can take outside or go wherever with.. ...Time for the children is a must but you can visit often if its from work, house or out and about....check in here anytime at home.

ditto with Grogan 'cause we have to have something to stay current on other than the blasted monthly bills. The good members here share there knowledge, experience and expertise not only about computers but living life's experiences too! Conformation that I am not the only one existing from day to day to make a living is a boost for me. There is always someone worse off and better off than I am. Like he said "one day at a time"

Thanks for your thoughts I think I might buy a cheapie just to IM and browse a bit. At this stage it is one day at a time..I seem to have heard that somewhere before. Its nice to know one is wanted but for now I only have the weekends to spend at home and a little computing between all my activities with the family....Any way thanks for making me feel wanted and welcome, its still like home here even though theres a new name. ....Jim

Spring!!! You lucky so and so - I wish it was Spring here! It's Autumn and dark, dark nights! I hate this time of the year for it brings with it the end of the Motor Cycle Race Calendar and I have to rely of videos to satisfy my 'need for speed' - plus the various sites on the Internet.
The Internet - the Forums - the Lounges - what a great place to spend my leisure hours - mmmmmmmm - not so bad after all! How else can you travel around the world so quickly with not a hint of jet lag? Having travelled from England to New Zealand by air (my first ever flight too!). I know only too well what jet lag can do However, should the opportunity arise I'd probably do the same again . How else could you 'Meet' so many helpful people (as Dingwire mantioned).

Real life is more important than this forum and the internet in general. (ask crazygerman). Do what you have to do and when you have time we will still be here and you will still be a valued member. I promise.......waldo

Hi Woodsie
I know that Queensland isn't all big cities, surf and beaches, but you're living in one of the world's bonzer countries - which, from my experiences there at least, is stuffed full of really friendly and resourceful people.
And that's from a Pom.
Please stay cheerful. After all, you could be living in England!!!
Seriously, Grogan's not wrong and I know from my own personal situation that 'one day at a time' is a pretty handy recipe, mate.

I hope your insurance will provide for upgrades and proper maintenance for the PC. Oil changes and cleaning costs, new software and battery changes as needed. Afterall you have an obligation....
